Constitution of the Old Settlers Steering Committee
Article I: Name
The club’s name will be Maxwell Old Settlers Steering Committee.
Article II: Objective
This club will sponsor the community held event “Old Settlers”. It is our responsibility to make sure the tradition of the event continues.
Article III: Membership
Membership shall be unlimited and open to persons interested in joining.
Article IV: Membership Criteria
Criteria shall include but not be limited to: anyone interested in helping with the Old Settlers events including the planning process and any fundraising events.
Article V: Duties and Obligations
Each member will be responsible for participating in fundraising events when available. Each member is also required to work a shift consisting of at least 2 hours during Old Settlers. It is also the responsibility of members to assist in set-up and tear down at the park.
Article VI: Dues
There are no dues.
Article VII: Resignation
Any member may resign at any time by notifying the President verbally or in writing.
Article VIII: Honorary Status
Those members who, after 10 years of membership, desire to be placed on honorary listing may do so by verbally notifying the President annually. This entitles them to participate and be involved in special events.
Article IX: Officers
Officers shall consist of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, whose duties will be those pertaining to their respective titles.
Article X: Election of Officers
Election of officers will be held yearly at the meeting following the August event. Vote will follow the review of that year's event.
Article XI: Meetings
All meetings will be held at the discretion of the President. Times and locations of meetings are to be determined by the President. Meetings shall be open to all members.
Article XII: Amendments
The by-laws may be amended by 2/3 of the members present.
